Fiona has been a sessional Counsellor with PIPS Hope and Support in Newry and Mourne for 20 years and has vast experience with individuals who have suicide ideation and people who have been bereaved through suicide. She specialises in Suicide intervention and prevention counselling. She is trained in Cruse Bereavement care and was a voluntary Counsellor with Cruse for four years. She has also delivered a Community Addiction Educational programme with Futureproof in partnership with HSST Community Addiction Centre in Brownlow Health and facilitated a community support group for addictions in St Lukes in Armagh.
She is a registered member of the BACP, and her membership number is 610817. She is accredited with the National Counselling Society and has her own insurance. She has over 7,000 clinically supervised hours. She also has individual clinical supervision monthly and group supervision monthly in PIPS.
She is a trained Colour Breathing Practitioner and recently trained in Sound therapy healing which she hopes to integrate into her practice.

Abbey Grammar School - School Counsellor

Her role as a School Counsellor was to provide a Counselling service for boys aged 11yrs- 18yrs in a Christian Brothers Grammar School. Working with young people covers a wide range of issues and challenges. She also went into the classrooms to do various workshops and delivered B+ Mental Health programme to all year 8 pupils. She has drawn up presentations on Drug Awareness, Self-harm, Bereavement Care, Bullying, Anger Management, Mindfulness Meditation and Self-esteem.
She worked as part of the pastoral care team within the School and attended weekly meetings regarding the wellbeing of pupils. She consulted with the Pastoral Care leader on any concerns regarding Child Protection issues.
She also worked with teachers and members of the pastoral care team to ensure pupil's emotional and mental health needs were met. She also facilitated meetings between parents and the young person with their consent.
She works within the BACP ethical framework for good practice and is committed to on-going personal development. She is an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.
